RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with communication on media platforms:
    • Assisting with the creation of digital content;
    • Publishing news, events and other relevant material on social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter;
    • Communicating calls for application of funds;
  • Market analysis reports:
    • Assisting with desktop searches of market information;
    • Collating information for market reports;
  • Assist with marketing material:
    • Assisting with the review and updating of marketing material;
    • Assisting in the designing of marketing material;
    • Liaising with suppliers and resolving problems, or referring accordingly;
  • Co-ordination of events:
    • Assisting in the co-ordination of events, including but not limited to, the following:
      • Assisting with registration of the event;
      • Booking flights and accommodation;
      • Booking venues;
    • Assisting in the sourcing and procurement of goods and services of the event;
    • Assisting in setting up stands and the distribution of marketing material.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BCom Marketing/Communication Degree, or B-Tech Marketing/Communication; with
  • One year experience in:
    • Digital content creation;
    • Updating of marketing material;
    • Publishing in social media;
    • Exhibiting;

OR

  • Relevant national Diploma; with
  • Two years’ experience in:
    • Digital content creation;
    • Updating of marketing material;
    • Publishing in social media;
    • Exhibiting;

OR

  • Grade 12; with
  • Four years’ experience in:
    • Digital content creation;
    • Updating of marketing material;
    • Publishing in social media;
    • Exhibiting.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Marketing practice;
    • Digital content creation;
    • Social media publishing;
  • Technical competencies:
    • Designing marketing content;

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

  • BCom Honours degree;
  • Sales/Marketing Certificate;
  • Two years’ experience in:
    • Sales/Marketing;
    • Technology transfer background;
  • WIPO courses: DL101, DL301, DL302, DL450 (Desirable);
  • WIPO Summer School Certification (Desirable);
  • Valid driver’s license (Essential).


The all-inclusive remuneration package for this contract position will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines.
